The Dufferin Muslim Centre (DMC), a non-profit organization, established in April 2022 by community members from Shelburne and the surrounding areas. DMC aims to fulfill religious obligations and organize events that educate, enrich, and foster a sense of belonging for adults and children. Its vision includes promoting interfaith dialogue, providing religious services, and offering unique educational opportunities for children, women, and men alike.
The Musallah in Dufferin County provides a dedicated space for daily prayers, Jumu’ah (Friday) prayers, Tarawee prayers, Eid prayers, Quran classes, and community events. It serves as a spiritual and social hub for Muslims in the area.
The Musallah is managed by the DMC core committee, consisting of dedicated volunteers who ensure financial accountability, oversee daily operations, and organize events.
Yes, the Musallah is a registered non-profit organization. It is actively working toward obtaining charitable registration status in compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations.
Currently, donations are not tax-deductible. However, the DMC is working to achieve charitable status. Until then, official receipts for contributions can be issued upon request.
