Our Story
In March 2022, DMC was founded by local community members in Dufferin County. Their goal was to build a place that was available for its community members in Shelburne and near by muslim residents in Dufferin County. As the location became accessible to the community, DMC started offering other Islamic services and we hope keep this momentum growing.
The five pillars of Islam
The declaration of faith (shahada), prayer (salah), alms-giving (zakat), fasting (sawm) and pilgrimage (hajj) – These constitute the basic norms of Islamic practice. They are accepted by Muslims globally irrespective of ethnic, regional or sectarian differences. We continue to share these values in Dufferin County.
DMC will be always remain a welcoming place for muslims in Dufferin County.
